Age: sixteen
Gender: female
Blood Type: muggleborn
Birthday: 19 September 1979
Year: sixth
Wand: 10 ¾”, Vine, Dragon heartstring
House: Gryffindor
Patronus: an otter, though this is one spell she has trouble with
Alliances: Dumbledore's Army/The Order of the Phoenix
Age: sixteen
Gender: female
Blood Type: muggleborn
Birthday: 19 September 1979
Year: sixth
Wand: 10 ¾”, Vine, Dragon heartstring
House: Gryffindor
Patronus: an otter, though this is one spell she has trouble with
Alliances: Dumbledore's Army/The Order of the Phoenix
Likes: reading, learning, studying, magic, books in general, the ceiling in the Great Hall, Ronald Weasley, her friends (Ron, Harry, Ginny, Neville, even Luna), classes, knowing things, being smart, her parents, her cat Crookshanks
Dislikes: the nickname “mudblood,” being referred to as a “know-it-all,” her teeth (before they were shrunken down by Madam Pomfrey in her fourth year after a spell from Draco Malfoy), Draco Malfoy, pranks (for the most part), frequent rule breakers (though she has become sort of one herself), when people try to copy off of her in class, people who don't prepare, being unprepared for anything herself, divination, which is one class she has actually dropped
Weaknesses: stubborn, reluctance to rule breaking, has trouble admitting when she's wrong, lets her know-it-all get in the way of making friends sometimes, has a soft spot for magical creatures who she feels are being mistreated, can be seen as bossy and too opinionated
Strengths: intelligent, hard-working, loyal, brave, logical
Amortentia: freshly mowed grass, new parchment
Riddikulus: failure
Expecto Patronum: when Harry and Ron accepted her as a friend
Dementor: It's a tie between when Draco hit her with the teeth growing spell and when she turned into a cat and was then petrified during her second year. But getting hit with a curse from Antonin Dolohov in her fifth year was no party either.
Mirror of Erise: Is it too much to ask that all of the house elves be freed? Yes? Okay, then she wants to work in the Ministry, taking S.P.E.W to the big house.
Personality:
Know-It-All;;
Very intelligent, Hermione is naturally the first (and sometimes only) person to raise her hand in a classroom. She is well read, though there are some things she isn't familiar with. In those cases, she will run straight to the library. She has a hard time not saying something. If she has information on a subject, she wants people to know about it. And she wants them to know that it was she who pointed it out. Often this is grounds for someone teasing her. It isn't always fun, though she knows that usually her friends don't always mean the things they say. She almost always has her homework done early and it is certainly always done on time. She isn't opposed to doing extra work either. She is the top of her class despite not being in Ravenclaw and she is very proud of that.
Stubborn;;
If she is a complete know-it-all and proud of it, it should come as no surprise that Hermione is quite stubborn. She has quit very few things in her life so far (one of them being Divination and she justifies it by saying it is a silly subject) and she is deathly afraid of failure. Her most stubborn subject would probably have to be her feelings on how magical creatures are treated in the wizarding community. She dislikes the idea of house elves as slaves and wasn't happy at all when she learned that Hogwarts used them. In fact, she tried to free them but that didn't work out and they ended up getting mad at her. She firmly believes that her friends should be more like her in the sense that they need to study and get their work done on time. If she is in a debate with someone it is very difficult for her to see the other person's side of things.
Logical;;
Hermione does not have to rely on magical ability alone, though she probably could if she wanted to. Instead she is more of a researcher and uses her mind to get out of situations that she doesn't think she should be in. Her mind has saved the trio from dangers on several occasions and while she is proud of that, she tries not to brag too much (though who can help that all the time?). She is able to see past the details and look even deeper into whatever their problem is to get the answer. But it does help that she's good at magic.
Strong;;
Some people might characterize strength as physical, but Hermione is very strong mentally. She is brave and unlikely to cave under pressure. She can withstand the torment that her school mates have dealt her over the years (particularly those dished out by Malfoy and his gang) and she even comes back with s witty remark or two of her own. She is a loyal person and stands up for what she believes in, even if other people think that she's mad. She has her own opinions and she isn't afraid to state them, though that leads to her being quite argumentative as well.

Hair: brown and somewhat bushy
Eyes: brown
Fashions: generally goes for the jeans and a shirt look, but will dress up when the occasion calls for it
Play by: Emma Watson
Appearance: Hermione stands at an average height. Or at least she would like to think 5'5” is pretty average. She has a slim, yet slightly curvy body structure and keeps herself at a pretty healthy weight. Her hair is brown and can usually be described as bushy, though it has smoothed out just slightly since her first year. Like her hair, her eyes are brown. Her skin leans toward the pale side and while she is usually in her school uniform, when given the opportunity she wouldn't mind lounging around in pajamas or jeans.

Parents: Jean and Jared Granger (I made the names up)
Siblings: none, Hermione is an only child
Others: Crookshanks the cat
History:
Her parents were dentists. Just ordinary dentists, though that didn't stop them from not allowing Hermione's teeth to be fixed later in her life. But on the whole, they were ordinary people. A man and wife who loved each other and decided to have a child. They got Hermione Jean Granger on the nineteenth of September and couldn't be happier. One child was all they needed so Hermione became the apple of their eye, so-to-speak. She wasn't really spoiled, but she never really wanted for anything either. It soon became clear that their daughter, while someone they loved unconditionally, was very different from other kids. Things just happened around Hermione and they weren't at all normal things. But that didn't change how they felt. She was their daughter and they loved her dearly.
It all became clear when she turned eleven. She was a witch, and she was very excited about that. Everything started falling into place for her and she all but begged her parents to take her to the wizarding world so she could get her school supplies. While it took some figuring out to do, they eventually made it to Diagon Alley where Hermione could have gone wild with all of the new learning material. Her parents bought her everything that she needed for her first year and a few things that she didn't need. No pets though. Why would anyone need a pet where Hermione was going? And certainly not a toad. In preparation for her first year, Hermione had everything read before school even started. She had a slightly better than basic knowledge of the founders of Hogwarts by this time, but she didn't particularly care where she got placed. She assumed it would be any of the houses but Slytherin. She didn't think she came off as a very sly sort of person. As the sorting hat sat on her head, it debated about whether to put her in Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. In the end it settled on the latter choice and she joined her fellow classmates at that table.
The first year had a little trouble fitting in at the beginning. She thought she might bond more with the Ravenclaw students, but her loyalty to her house kept her trying. It wasn't that she didn't like the other houses. Aside from Slytherin (and really even some people in that house weren't too bad) she didn't have any issues. Well, aside from being teased by almost everyone. It seemed like her books were her only friends. She had even overheard the two people she wanted to be friends with most, Harry and Ron, making fun of her after a class. It sent her to the bathroom crying. Unfortunately, a troll was set loose in the castle and headed straight for her location. If Ron and Harry hadn't saved her, if she hadn't helped Ron with that spell, they might never have been friends. But it worked out. Defeating a cave troll together gave them the bonding experience they needed to finally accept Hermione into their little group. The two convinced Hermione that Professor Snape was trying to steal the sorcerer's stone. It took a while because Hermione was adamant that a teacher could not be part of such a thing. But the evidence was there and she helped Harry and Ron, eventually leading to Harry's success in getting the stone before Lord Voldemort could use it.
Her second year brought new books and new adventures. While she arrived to school on the Hogwarts Express like the year before, Hermione noticed that her friends had not. It worried her that they might not be there this year, but she could see no reasonable explanation for their absence. Well, she got one. They had come in a flying car, an act that Hermione found very irresponsible. She also learned that Harry had received none of her letters, which was odd because she had sent him several. It was also the year that they got Gilderoy Lockhart as their Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Hermione had already read all of his books (partially because most of it was required reading for the class) and had developed a little bit of a crush on the professor. It became clear over the year, however, that he wasn't as smart as he made himself out to be. Students were being stunned and their professor couldn't do anything about it. She and her two friends began the long process of making the polyjuice potion to turn themselves into Slytherin students. But she pulled a cat hair from the robes of a student instead of a human hair and missed out on the chance to confront Draco. She was released after being fixed in the hospital wing. Hermione spent a good deal of time in the library and when she figured it out she wrote a few words on a piece of paper and began carrying a mirror around to look around corners. At least she wasn't killed, but she was stunned and missed the rest of the year due to being immobile in the hospital wing while a cure was made.
The students were allowed to pick a few elective classes in their third year, but Hermione had trouble deciding which ones she wanted to limit herself to. Because of that dilema, Professor McGonagall got permission to give her a time turner. This way, Hermione could make all of her classes just by going back in time a little. But she was wearing herself out. On top of that she had a little bit of a breakdown when she started Divination. Professory Trelawney said that Hermione would fail everything. She also continually predicted Harry Potter's death. Eventually Hermione got fed up and Divination became the first thing Hermione failed, though she saw it as just dropping a silly class, beliving that Divination had no real impact on the wizarding world. Her friends were getting suspicious of her constant popping out of nowhere, but she kept taking her classes. At the same time, they had found out that Sirius Black had escaped Azkaban prison, something that was unheard of. Harry decided to take it upon himself to kill his godfather but when they got the chance they found out that it was not Sirius who killed Harry's parents. That hardly mattered, though. Sirius was to be given the Dementor's Kiss. The solution was brought to them by Professor Dumbledore, who suggested in a round about way that Hermione should use the time turner. Ron was injured so it was just Hermione and Harry who went back in time to set things right. They were able to save Buckbeak and Sirius. Hermione also decided to drop a few classes and just stick with the ones she was really interested in.
Just before her fourth year, Hermione spent time at the Burrow so that she could attend the Quidditch World Cup with Harry and the Weasley family. Even though she wasn't much of a Quidditch fan and didn't play the game herself unless forced, she still had a reasonably good time. That is until she noticed the house elf that was obviously afraid of being there. Hermione began the process of starting a group to set things right with the house elves. Also at the game the Death Eaters made an appearance, though no one seemed to want to believe it. Mr. Crouch's house elf was blamed for the dark mark in the sky, which Hermione thought was very unfair.
When they got to Hogwarts that year, they were informed that two other schools would be staying with them. This was because of the Triwizard Tournament. While the students from the schools were visiting, Hermione began seeing the famous Viktor Krum, a professional Quidditch player and one of the people she had watched in the Quidditch World Cup. But he was a little annoying because he just liked to watch her study. She had never asked for his autograph like the other girls and he apparently found that attractive. When he asked her to attend the Yule Ball she accepted, but only told Ginny. She had wanted Ron to ask her to go, but when he did it was sort of rude and at the very last minute. It wasn't flattering at all. Hermione was the go-between for Harry and Ron while they weren't talking. Harry's name had somehow been pulled out of the Goblet of Fire and he was going to be forced to compete. Hermione was worried for him but she suspected Ron was just jealous. They smoothed things over though. The entire year Rita Skeeter had been publishing horrible things in the Daily Prophet, some of which were about her and had Mrs. Weasley disliking her for quite some time. But what was most important was the final task in the tournament. When Harry came back he had Cedric Diggory's dead body with him. It was clear to Hermione that Harry was telling the truth: Lord Voldemort was back. No one else seemed to believe him though. At the end of the year, it was Hermione who discovered that Rita Skeeter was an unregistered animagus and made her promise to not write nasty things anymore.
Before her fifth year, Hermione spent time with the Weasleys and Sirius Black at 12 Grimmauld Place, which was serving as the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix. She wanted to join but Mrs. Weasley objected to the three of them. Still, she was allowed to know more than Ginny, though that didn't stop her from telling her little friend all about what was going on. She was forbidden to talk to Harry about it though, so the result was that he got very few letters, something he seemed to resent her for at first. When she got her letter to Hogwarts she was informed that she had been appointed (with Ron) as a prefect. She was incredibly excited. She thought it was a perfect fit and took the responsibility very seriously. When she got to school she had a surprise for the house elves who cleaned their common room and dorms. She had knitted (and was still knitting) various clothing items such as socks and hats to set them free. But they got mad at her, all but Dobby who was already free. That didn't stop her activism with S.P.E.W. though.
Even though no one believed Harry about the Dark Lord being back, with Ron's help Hermione convinced Harry to try to offer a sort of class. They need a real teacher because this year their Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher was a Ministry official who seemed to know nothing about the subject. More people than Hermione had expected showed up and wanted to be taught in the end. They were caught toward the end of the year and had to escape to the Ministry of Magic to help Harry's godfather. They thought he was in trouble because the vision he had was very much like one he had had about Mr. Weasley. But Voldemort tricked them. Hermione was cursed by Dolohov after she stunned Nott when he had his hold on Harry. She was sore for quite a while afterward though the curse hadn't caused any bruising or cuts. At least not externally. Even with the stress of the year, Hermione achieved the highest marks in all of her O.W.L.s. All except Defense Against the Dark Arts, which she got an Exceeds Expectations. That was something she wasn't happy about.
Hermione is now in her sixth year at Hogwarts. Her feelings for Ronald Weasley have continued to grow but for the moment she has kept them as secret as possible. She suspects Harry knows, just like she has noticed how he looks at Ginny.

Alias: bambi (my name is Amber, and that's what I usually go by, but there are a lot of A names here)
Age: 25 (probably too old to be playing a sixth year)
Experience: A lot. I've lost count after ten years.

Roleplay Example: ((I hope it's okay that it is as Ginny. I can write up a Hermione one if I need to.))
She was back in the Chamber of Secrets. Only this time, she wasn't a first year. Instead she was walking through the Chamber as a fifth year, her current age, but just as helpless as ever. Ginny couldn't do anything she really wanted to. She'd thrown all of her trust into a stupid diary – a diary that was under her arm at this very moment. She had confided in it. She thought what she and Tom had was something real. At least as far as friendship went. In her mind she was the fifth year version of her first year self – an awkward girl with red hair and an unrequited love interest. She was the self-conscious girl of her first year stuck in her fifth year body; the youngest Weasley and the only female child to the family. While those last two things might have still been true, the real Ginny was no longer the self-conscious little girl that she had been her first year. She'd come into Hogwarts a but shy, embarrassed because her brother had gotten a howler and confused about what to do around Harry. But now, aside from this moment, she was a popular fifth year. Someone who took after Fred and George in the pranks department and managed to look half-way attractive on a tight budget. Just, not right now. Right now she was terrified.
Her body moved to the floor. Tom was standing over her, just waiting for her to die. Ginny had guessed the plan by now. He didn't really want her friendship; he just wanted to get to Harry. And it was all her fault. She was on the floor, motionless, her skin growing even more pale by the minute. The book was placed under her arms on top of her chest, just soaking in her strength. That was when Harry, now his sixth year self, came in. She could sense he was there, but there was nothing she could do about it. She wanted to scream out that this was all her fault. She was so sorry. But nothing happened. She couldn't even make herself open her eyes.
Finally she was able to scream. She sat upright on the couch in the Gryffindor Common Room, covered in a thin film of sweat. The red-headed girl looked around. She was alone, at least for now. She wondered if that scream had been out loud. Yes, it had most definitely been out loud. She wondered if anyone had heard it. There were probably some people in the dorms, but maybe they thought it was just another fifth year freaking out about the fact that they had OWLs this year. Her chest made dramatic movements up and down as she attempted to control her breathing. Despite popular belief, Ginny was not over the fact that Lord Voldemort had actually possessed her. She had frequent nightmares, but she rarely woke up screaming about them. This was embarrassing. She ran her hands through her hair and looked at the floor. She had in fact dropped a diary-sized book, but it wasn't Riddle's diary. It was just a Charms book from the library. She picked it up and sat it on the table next to her, she was going to have to go to the Hospital Wing sometime soon and get a no dream potion.
